Document Preflighting
When a page fails to RIP or needs to be resubmitted to your printing press, cost
can rise quickly as they preflight and troubleshoot your documents. Before
generating CTP
files for proofing and press delivery, all native files are
preflighted by an experienced prepress mechanic ensuring file accuracy, bleeds,
trapping, spot colors, font accuracy, etc.
Document Alterations
DMGinc.
handles document alterations of any complexity. Depending on workflow
options, we can make text edits, image alterations, place silhouetted objects
and if necessary pages and/or elements can be sent to our design team for
complete reworking. DMGinc.
works with every major desktop publishing
application on both mac and windows platforms.
Contract Proofing (SWOP-Halftone)
DMGinc.
uses a halftone, Epson-based, post-RIP digital proofing system. These
contract digital proofs adhere to
SWOP standards and are generated directly from
your post-RIP CTP
files and accurately represent color, moire, trapping,
resolution and paper color (see below).
Laser Proofing
Although contract proofs are a necessary final product for color and
CTP file
accuracy, they may not be cost-effective for the early stages of publication
production. These proofs are ideal for those with limited internal hardcopy
proofing solutions and for those who will require large amounts of text edits or
non-color changes prior to creating CTP
files and contract proofs.
Soft Proofing
Although contract proofs are a necessary final product for color and
CTP file
accuracy, soft proofing is ideal for both the early and late stages of proofing.
Users can view and approve their CTP
files from any web browser or mark them for
corrections and request new proofs. They can also compare correction lists from
a previous proof to the current proof to ensure all corrections have been made.
Computer-to-Plate File Creation
Once native files have been preflighted, CTP
files are generated using a
Harlequin RIP
engine and then carefully reviewed for accurate channel creation,
trapping and element placement. The most common
CTP files requested are
PDFX1a
due to their versatility, however
DMGinc. can prepare nearly any form of
digital, press-ready files accepted by high-end North American printers.
Paper Matching
For clients with color critical missions, special paper along with custom
profiles can be utilized in our contract proofing system in order to simulate
the paper stock used by your press.
Press Check
Our experts can also travel to your press location and perform the press check.
There, we will match the press sheets to your approved contract proofs, make
necessary inline adjustments and compromises and ensure quality of the finished
product.
